Our Christmas Red Bucket red bucket charity collection for Essex Integration amounted to £268.31 which includes gift aid

Thank you to everyone who contributed.

It’s a little past New Year & many resolutions have been made, no doubt. There is absolutely nothing wrong with resolving to eat less cake & chocolate, drink less or no alcohol or take more exercise & some of you will have made more serious, profound promises than these. While thinking of New Year’s resolutions I came across this poem, a prayer for the New Year:

Dear Master, for this coming year, I bring just one request

I do not pray for happiness or any earthly thing –

I do not ask to understand the way Thou leadest me,

But this I ask: Teach me to do the things that pleaseth Thee,

I want to know Thy guiding voice, to walk with Thee each day,

Dear Master, make me swift to hear & ready to obey.

And thus the year I now begin, A happy year will be –

If I am seeking just to do, the thing that pleaseth Thee.

If you have not been into Church since Christmas, you may be surprised to find it looking a little different! The chancel has scaffolding & plastic sheeting ( to restrict the dust) whilst the repair to the chancel arch is carried out. The organ is also protected & the piano will be used for services. It is intended that the work will be completed by the beginning of February. Except for services there are no public events in church during this time.
